See Ya Next Year, Summertime!

See Ya Next Year, Summertime!

As summer winds down, take out a few hours to part ways with all the things you definitely won’t miss.

Old beach towels can be put to better use than gathering dust and taking up space in your closet. Animal shelters accept old towels as donations which come in handy for cleaning up messes, bathing pups, and lining cages.

To make space in your cupboards and pantries, throwing out unused condiments and spices can make room for those hot chocolate instant packets and fall coffee mugs that fit perfectly between your palms.

Replacing old air conditioning filters that have been chugging along all summer can make a huge difference on the way your ac runs. It is also estimated that changing the filter can reduce electricity consumption by 5 to 10 percent.

Lastly, summer clothes that just don’t fit and flatter anymore need to be thrown away or even donated. Likewise, if old sandals and flip-flops have hit the pavement too much this summer and are worn out and thin, they too need to be thrown away in order to prevent pain and discomfort. Free up your closet and donate, donate, donate.

Although we live in south Florida and it is pretty much summer all around, moving things and even getting rid of others will really make a noticeable impact in your home.
